WMBC Constitution

Pastoral Application Form. Thank you for taking the time to fill it out completely. We appreciate your time. (All answers given here are completely confidencial and will not be shared with anyone outside of the committee.)

Background (all fields required)

1.) Tell us your Story. How did you become a Christian? *
2.) Why did you become a pastor? How did you receive your calling? *
3.) How does your wife (or girlfriend) feel about you being a pastor? *Only if applicable. If single or widowed, please answer with that.
4.) What are your long-term career goals? *
5.) Who are some of the pastors that you consider personal role models? *Please list at least 2 but no more than 5.
6.) What type of degree(s) do you have and from what school (which schools)? *
7.) Do you plan to continue your education? *
8.) Do you have any training in pastoral counseling? *(Including families and pre-marital)
9.) Are you and your wife (girlfriend) united in your beliefs? *Only if applicable. If single or widowed, please answer with that.

Why Our Church? (all fields are required)

6.) Our church is a non-denomination Bible church. How do you handle denominations? Including those that may seem opposed to each other? *

Preaching Style And Preparation (all fields required)

1.) What would the schedule look like for an ideal Sunday worship service? *
2.) How do you prepare for your sermons? *
3.) Approximately how much time do you spend in prayer and sermon preparation? *
4.) What style of preaching do you most likely use? (expositionally, topically, doctrinally, etc.) *
5.) What style of music do you prefer, if you have a preference? *We currently sing contemorary praise and worship songs with hymns every now and then.
6.) In what way does technology help/hurt a church? *
7.) How do you handle disruptions during the service? *These include a baby crying, talking, cellphones, someone who begins yelling during the service, protest groups.
8.) What is your interpretation of the biblical teaching on Hell? Should it even be preached? *

Church Internal Workings (all fields required)

1.) What is a pastor's primary responsibility? What are the next few priorities after that? *
2.) Describe your leadership style. (hands-on, laid-back, fast-paced, facilitator, CEO) *
3.) In what way should church business meetings be conducted? *
4.) Have you had to deal with any church conflicts in the past? (parishioners or staff) *Your answer can be general to protect those involved.
5.) How do you handle church discipline? *
6.) How do you handle accountability? For yourself and for other church members? *
7.) During covid, churches were considered 'non-essential' and told to close their doors. How would you handle this scenario when it happens again? *

Beliefs (all fields required)

1.) What are some theological issues that you think are especially important for Christians to get right in this time and place? *
2.) According to your observations, what doctrines need special emphasis in our day? *
3.) Please expalin your view of sanctification. What are the various means God uses to sanctify the believer? *
4.) What does Christ's atonement accomplish? *
5.) How do you articulate your present view of end-time or eschatological issues? *
6.) What is your view of divorce and remarriage? *
7.) What are your requirements for performing a marriage ceremony? *

Doctrine (all fields required)

2.) Do you believe in the doctrine of grace? Why or why not? *
3.) What Bible versions do you prefer? Which ones will you not use? *
4.) How do churches grow, according to the Bible? *
5.) What is your position on baptism? (water, declaration, infant, etc.) *
6.) What is your position on speaking in tongues? *What exactly is speaking in tongues, what does it look like, and is it a gift of the Spirit for today?
7.) Please explain justification by faith. What is the difference between the Catholic view of justification and the biblical view, if any? *
8.) What is the proper use of the Old Testament law? *
9.) Do you believe that the events described in Genesis 1-11 are factual or symbolic? *
10.) What does the Bible teach concerning spiritual gifts? *
11.) What are your views on 1 Timothy 3:2-12? Especially the phrase of "Husband of one Wife?" *
12.) What is your stance on abortion? *
13.) What is your view on homosexuality? *
14.) What is your view on Israel and the church? Has the church replaced the Israeli promises? Is God done with Israel? *
15.) What is your theology? (Dispensational, Covenant, Egalitarian, Gnostic, etc) *
16.) Describe your interpretation of 1 Timothy 2:12. Do you feel women can lead any ministies? (Children's ministry, Bible study, missionary work, etc.) *

Ministry / Community (all fields required)

1.) What part of ministry gets you really excited? *
2.) What part of ministry is still a struggle to you? *
3.) How do you handle burn-out? *
4.) Do you believe in small group discipleship, such as Sunday school or Bible study? *
